Funny name, serious business

We make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to provide clean water and help build toilets for the billions of people who lack proper access. So far, we've contributed over $18 million AUD (over $12.5 million USD) to fund sanitation projects around the globe. Basically, we're really good at doing good.

With hubs in Australia, the Philippines, China, the US, UK and Europe, our amazing team of 200+ work to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next couple of years, we're hoping to increase our annual donation tenfold to get us closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation services.

A bit about the role

We're on the lookout for a General Manager to come and join the fold, taking the reins and leading our US region. This is a newly created role, and we need someone who's ready to own the market, lead our cross-functional commercial teams, and help us scale the crap out of our business across all channels.

In this role, you'll be focused on defining a strategy that's tailored to the unique needs of the US market. You'll take our company-wide objectives and translate them into clear, actionable strategies that drive growth locally. With your extensive experience in US retail and commercial operations, you'll help level up our teams and push for faster decision-making, accountability, and results. It's all about using local insights to accelerate our impact in the US market and drive sustainable growth. While being the bridge between our local and global teams, ensuring alignment while fostering growth across your region.

Our teams are spread all over the globe, you'll mostly be working with US team but also collaborating with teams in our other hubs. So for this role, we'll need you to be flexible and ready to jump in for some early starts and some connections later in the day throughout your week.

If you worked here this past month here are some things you might have been involved in

  • Leading the team to finalise our FY25 H2 regional plans, while already thinking ahead to the strategy for FY26 (which kicks off in July!)
  • Developing a 3-5 year strategy for expanding our retail presence across the US, including channel approaches, propositions, and defining what success looks like
  • Steering a cross-functional group to devise plans that'll turbocharge our new customer growth and help us reach even more people
  • Supporting the evolution of our product and pricing strategies, along with pinpointing which US geographies to prioritise
  • Providing guidance and support to a cross-functional team, including marketing, sales, supply chain, and others, helping them develop and execute a clear roadmap to hit our goals
  • Building a localised test-and-learn roadmap with hypotheses and success metrics, ensuring we're maximising sustainable growth at every turn

Let's talk about you

You're an expert when it comes to the US market and bring a wealth of experience as a General Manager, ideally with experience of launching & scaling brands in retail. Your generalist skills are complemented by your ability to lead people at all stages of their careers, and you've got a knack for building strong cross-functional relationships. You thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment and have a proven track record of building new markets and scaling teams to support that growth.

Your deep understanding of the market means you make data-driven decisions, and your hands-on approach helps you turn customer, competitor, and market insights into actionable, holistic strategies. You know how to balance ambitious growth with sustainable profitability, ensuring that we're not just growing fast, but growing smart.

You give a crap

Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!

Why should you work with us?

First off, as a certified B Corp, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards of social and environmental impact. With our most recent score of 125.5 we're in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world.

We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that's why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare for our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right).

Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that our team is really proud (98%) to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn't be more proud of that.

Have you made it this far?

If you're still reading, we think there's a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here's the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don't check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.

Want a little more detail on how we think about compensation? Ok here goes…
