Supporting the manufacturing network of ~14 private label food manufacturing facilities, and responsible for category ownership including sourcing new vendors, monitoring futures markets, vendor relationship management, negotiating supply & best in class pricing, supporting quality and RDI initiatives and ensuring continuity of supply for all plants.

Job Description

Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of rail/truck logistics for inbound/outbound grain and flour shipments including financial analysis of rates, demurrage, contracts, rebates and invoices.
  • Track and trace all rail/truck loading and in transits to ensure appropriate lead times and delivery dates are adhered to.
  • Coordinate contract and source list creation and maintenance with both corporate purchasing team and local material planners on a regular basis; conduct routine checks to ensure data freshness and accuracy.
  • Maintain supplier, pricing and material master data in ERP systems (SAP, Agris & M3).
  • Performance and service reporting for key performance indicators (KPI's) and scorecarding.
  • Partner with logistics and milling operations for weekly byproduct ship orders / mill receipt invoicing for multiple locations.
  • Work with Procurement Finance on month end processes / reporting to include reconciliation.
  • Lead data collection from internal buyers and external suppliers to support PLM/PDM process for new product launch, innovation and on-going maintenance in procurement operations area
  • Manage changes and updates to SAP Purchase Requisition/Purchase Order workflow approvals
  • Provide assistance to the Procurement Category Managers on various sourcing projects as needed including data analysis and forecasting.
  • Assist and lead other special projects, ad hoc reporting requests, and team backup as needed.

Qualifications

  • Five plus years of experience in data management preferably within CPG industry.
  • Systems and Tools experience- SAP, Agris, M3 preferred: proficiency managing and making recommendations for efficiencies with systems and tools, such as SAP and supporting applications.
  • Excellent Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment.
  • Self-motivation in a fast pace environment.
  • Cross-functional Dependencies: experience effectively working across multiple departments to complete a project or resolve an organizational challenge.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills, and basic knowledge of general business concepts.
