Chief Technology Officer

At Solving.AI, we are on a mission to redefine how tasks are accomplished in the AI age. We're building Autopilot, the first self-operating browser in the cloud that executes recurring tasks based on prompts. Autopilot makes automation smarter, more intuitive, and completely hands-free.

We are looking for a hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technical vision and execution of our platform. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer and strategic thinker to help define, develop, and scale our infrastructure and products while keeping costs efficient and performance optimized.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on Coding

• Actively write and review backend code to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Backend & Infrastructure Leadership

• Oversee the backend architecture and infrastructure hosted on Digital Ocean.
• Manage and optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and low latency.
• Be responsible for Linux environments, MySQL, PHP, Node.js, SMTP, and Puppeteer for browser automation.

Frontend Team Management

• Collaborate with and guide the frontend development team to ensure cohesive integration between front and backend systems.
• Maintain high standards for UI/UX and ensure alignment with business goals.

Scaling and Optimization

• Design and implement scalable systems to support high-volume, recurring task execution in the cloud.
• Monitor infrastructure costs and optimize resources to maintain cost-efficiency.

Research & Development

• Explore and test cutting-edge approaches, models, and technologies to build the most effective system for recurring task automation.
• Evaluate various AI and ML models for integration into the platform.

Strategic Vision

• Develop and execute a roadmap to achieve Solving.AI’s mission of creating the best self-operating browser.

Montreal-Based Leadership

• Be available on-site in Montreal to collaborate closely with the team.

Required Qualifications

Fluent Expertise in Technology Stack:

• Strong knowledge of Linux, MySQL, PHP, Node.js, SMTP, and Puppeteer.
• Experience with backend architecture and cloud hosting (preferably Digital Ocean).

Hands-on Leadership:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience coding backend systems at scale.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing cross-functional collaboration.

Experience Scaling Systems:

• Demonstrated ability to scale cloud infrastructure and optimize performance for high-traffic systems.

Cost-Conscious Approach:

• A strategic thinker who understands how to manage resources and infrastructure budgets effectively.

Montreal Residency:

• Must live in Montreal or be willing to relocate.
