Position Summary

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will own the core recommendation algorithm that drives the personalized experience for over 400,000 clinicians on the Nomad Health platform.

Responsibilities/What You Will Do

In this role, you'll be expected to perform many Machine Learning engineering activities, including one or more of the following:

  • Design, build, and deliver improvements to the job recommendation algorithm.
  • Creatively solve challenging problems by developing application code using machine learning approaches and technologies.
  • Inform infrastructure decisions with your knowledge of ML modeling techniques, including algorithm choice, training data, feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, dimensionality reduction, bias/variance trade-offs, and validation.
  • Own the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests to measure the impact of changes to the recommendation algorithm.
  • Build and maintain data engineering pipelines to support efficient data flow and feature engineering for ML models.
  • Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
  • Leverage or build cloud-based architectures (AWS/GCP) to scale and optimize ML models.
  • Ensure code is well-managed, vulnerabilities are minimized, and models adhere to Responsible and Explainable AI best practices.
  • Document, organize, and communicate workflows through Jira and other tools.
  • Apply Git best practices for code collaboration and version control.

Qualifications/ Skills - What You Will Need

  • Competency
    • Python (OOP)
    • SQL/BigQuery
    • Broad knowledge about modern Machine Learning algorithms and how to use them.
    • (preferred) Experience working on recommendation systems and knowledge graphs.
    • Proficiency with data engineering tools like Airflow and dbt.
    • Cloud Services (AWS or GCP (preferred))
    • Git best practices
    • (preferred) Experience deploying ML models in a production environment
  • Required education and experience - Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Additional eligibility qualifications - Master's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Compensation for this full-time position is between $115,000 to $163,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum amount employees can earn during their time in the role. Actual pay may be higher or lower depending on geographic locations, skills, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
