About The Role

Confluent Cloud delivers a complete end-to-end streaming experience via a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. Confluent is also a major contributor to the Apache Kafka project. We are hiring a Group Product Manager to work on Core Kafka features both through donations to the open-source Kafka product and via our SaaS product, Confluent Cloud.

The role is directly responsible for working with customers and communities to craft a roadmap that meets the needs of both Confluent Cloud and the entire Kafka community. To deliver a simple, understandable, and scalable product experience requires abstracting the complex interactions of underlying infrastructure, networking, storage, and computing powering a stateful distributed system.

The Group Product Manager will manage the team that works on the lowest levels of the technology stack and is responsible for taking these core features to market, as well as, deciding what features will remain proprietary and what will be donated to open-source.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with the VP of Product and other Product Leaders to grow Apache Kafka and Confluent Cloud
• Work closely with customers and the field to inform your roadmap and strategy
• Coach product managers to ensure they are growing their careers and enabled to do their best work
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to prioritize and address the needs of our customers and take new features and capabilities to market
  
  

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of 2 years of product leadership experience, ideally in B2B developer-focused products
• 8+ years of Product Management experience
• An ability to empathize with software developers and get hands-on with the product
• Experience working with and contributing to open-source technologies
