Direct Reports: Payroll Tax Analyst, Payroll Tax Specialist

Job Summary

The largest light industrial staffing company in the United States is looking for a Payroll Tax Manager to start ASAP.

This position is responsible for the management of the department’s critical tasks and staff to assure timely and accurate reporting of periodic, quarterly, and annual payroll tax data to the tax agencies by performing the essential duties listed below.

Job Functions

  • Maintain oversight of all tax-related activities to include periodic, quarterly, and annual tax payments and filings, timely amendment processing and filing, etc.
  • Ensure all applicable Payroll tax returns are prepared and filed on a timely basis with the appropriate authorities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on payroll tax related activities.
  • Manage key vendor relationships to ensure service delivery.
  • Perform audits to ensure all systems are aligned.
  • Works in conjunction with Payroll to ensure continuity of service.
  • Ensure first class service is consistently provided to internal and external customers through maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the team and processes.
  • Serve as escalation point for tax-related issues.
  • Support department and client initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to maximize their strengths and enhance their effectiveness creating a positive working environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting or Business
  • 10 years related experience in multi-state, multi-FEIN payroll tax administration required
  • Extensive experience engaging with federal, state, territory, and local tax agencies for POA requirements, notice resolution, and penalty abatement
  • Exp managing / supervising employees
  • 8 years related experience with 50,000+ Employees, multi-frequency payrolls, W2Cprocessing and management reporting of tax activity
  • Subject Matter Expertise in federal, state, territory, local payroll tax and reporting requirements,
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel to include V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, Macros
  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills
