WHAT YOU'LL DO:





  • The Outsourced Client Controller provides general advisory service to private education industry clients, through scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statements.

  • Direct point of contact for private education and nonprofit client engagements.

  • Partners with private education client CFO/Finance Directors to maintain and foster relationships.

  • Research and share knowledge of best practices in processes and procedures, internal controls, and areas of business concern or interest to each client.

  • Oversees client accounting team ensuring expectations are met on multiple client deliverables.




  • Review and finalize accounting period closes.

  • Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and Board of Directors.

  • Facilitate and work with auditors to complete audit requests in addition to year end close such as functional expense schedule, net asset schedule, and schedule of federal awards, if applicable.

  • Provide technical accounting assistance in accordance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance to clients and internal team.






WHAT WE SEEK:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • CPA preferred.

  • Public accounting experience required

  • Experience providing advisory services to private education client industry required

  • 8+ years of advanced, hands-on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation within the private education industry.

  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships and work effectively within a team.

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience

  • Federal grant program experience including grant funding is preferred.

  • Experience using Blackbaud Financial Edge, Tuition Management and Raiser Edge software preferred

  • Project management experience

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $85,000 to $160,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.


Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
