Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking a Manager, Legal & Contract Transactions, to engage in day-to-day legal operations and serve as a strategic partner for the legal team and the organization. The Manager, Legal & Contract Transactions will provide transactional support to the legal term for customer EPC agreements, vendor procurements, subcontracts, and financings.


We are looking for someone who is attentive to detail and a problem-solver. This position will operate in a dynamic environment, which will require effective communication with both internal and external parties. It will not have direct reports.


This position can be remote and will report to the Deputy General Counsel.


What You'll Do:



  • Support the in-house attorneys with management, administration, and negotiation of commercial transactions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, including, but not limited to, pre-construction, project management, engineering, procurement, construction, accounting, finance, quality, human resources, and safety.

  • Assist project teams with contract change management.

  • Work with internal teams and legal to obtain information and facts necessary to finalize and execute legal documents, including EPC agreement exhibits, milestone completion certificates, estoppels, and consents.

  • Review and verify the accuracy of notices, amendments, and other legal-related contracts.

  • Assist the Licensing team with state qualifier applications for contracting, electrical, and other state licensing compliance requirements.

  • Respond to day-to-day questions and requests from team members and outside parties.

  • Manage database and other internal systems to track and obtain information.


Must-Haves:



  • 4+ years of experience in a Legal and Contracts Transactions Managerial level position with prior experience developing, managing, and administering policies and processes.

  • 1+ years of experience in contract/change management experience.

  • An entrepreneurial attitude towards development, problem solving, and related project support functions.

  • Highly organized and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic setting involving multiple projects and meeting timelines.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A forward-thinking spirit that constantly seeks out business improvement opportunities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), DocuSign, internal document maintenance, and related software.

  • An ability to successfully work in a remote environment.


Nice-to-Haves:



  • Solar or renewable energy experience.

  • Familiarity with Smartsheet.

  • Previous in-house legal department experience.


Education and Certifications:



  • Bachelor's degree is required.


Working Environment and Physical Demands:



  • This position can be remote, preferably within comfortable traveling distance of one of our BRP office locations in Asheville or Fayetteville, NC.

  • Some travel to Asheville, NC, is optional (to hang out with the team!)

  • Dynamic environment, requiring the ability to simultaneously balance many assignments.

  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
