Hiring from: United States
Lime is the world's largest shared electric vehicle company. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered 400+ million rides in 250+ cities on 5 continents, replacing an estimated 100+ million car trips. Named a Time 100 Most Influential Company and Fast Company Brand That Matters, we achieved a fully profitable year in 2022, becoming the first in our industry to reach this milestone

At Lime, we design and develop our vehicles in house to build the best possible ride for our customers. Our vehicles are a public reminder of our presence, and the foundation upon which the Lime experience is built. Building our own hardware is a strategic advantage that allows us to innovate and respond quickly to this fast-changing segment

As a Director of Hardware Program Management, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products. Your mission? To manage a dynamic team of program managers, driving the successful launch of Lime vehicles and cutting-edge features worldwide

This role transcends borders. While it’s remote, you’ll occasionally travel to Lime development locations

What you'll do:

  • Manage a global team of program managers to launch new Lime vehicles and features to the world - collaborating with product management, engineering, design, ops, supply chain, legal and policy teams.

  • Own the entire product development process from concept to launch. New Lime products come to life under your watchful eye. You ensure they’re not just good, but exceptional, with high-quality features that delight our customers.

  • Work across multiple technologies, facilitating deep technical discussions on product architecture and product design/development tradeoffs. You will align workstreams and expectations across hardware (e.g. wheels, brakes, batteries), power (e.g. charging, motors), electronics (e.g. GPS, Bluetooth, cameras), and firmware (e.g. lock/unlock algorithms).

  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the process, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance our methodologies and mechanisms to deliver superior products to our consumers

  • Streamline processes, identifying and eliminating inefficiencies and waste, all while maintaining a keen focus on speed, efficiency, and cost effectiveness

  • Stewardship of our resources, diligently managing budgets and expenditures to ensure that every dollar spent is aligned with our overarching mission and strategic objectives.

  • Work cross functionally across the entire organization, creating durable mechanisms that address opportunity areas, even when they are not directly in your scope.

About you:

  • 12+ years experience in Program Management or similar field with experience managing hardware product development. (e.g. consumer electronics, vehicles, IoT devices).

  • You are an empathetic manager with a proven track record of hiring and developing a talented team. You are an expert coach and mentor who routinely increases the impact created by those on your team

  • You have a track record of transforming teams and organizations, adapting to difficult situations, and bringing positive organizational evolution.

  • You are passionate about Lime's mission and the value micro mobility will bring to the world’s cities.

  • You are thoughtful and honest and recognize that you can only solve problems you’re willing to call out.

  • You are a self-starter and get things across the finish line. You identify the most important problems and solve them.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and are able to bring clarity and consensus. You look around corners and address issues before they arise

  • You are a strategic thinker who helps teams see the big picture while staying focused and productive. You are also detail oriented and able to organize large amounts of information into informative, insightful updates for all levels of management.

  • You are able to drive decision making with our C-suite at one moment, and then dive deep with technical teams in the next to understand a root cause.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing a Program Management organization.

  • Experience developing consumer facing technology products.

  • Experience working with engineering teams in the US, Europe, and China.

  • Some experience with Lime or another shared micro mobility provider, either in your home town or while traveling.
