WHAT IS THE ROLE





The National Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue sales through the effective planning and implementation of sales and marketing programs, leading the Account Executive Sales team while ensuring reoccurring business from the existing client base. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to succeed and is passionate about driving results. Key responsibilities include:






  • Lead the national sales team and provide guidance, coaching and training to ensure they meet their revenue targets. Responsible for the recruitment, retention, performance and the development of all Account Executives.

  • Develop and implement a plan and sales marketing strategies to ensure attainment of the company’s sales goals and profitability consistent with the overall strategic direction of the company.

  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.

  • Create a sales culture within Pohlman and mentor Account Executive on sales tactics that improve the quantity and quality of sales interactions with current clients.

  • Conducts frequent sales training and development meetings for Account Executives to provide insight and accelerate sales activity and performance and use of technologies that support the sales efforts (e.g., Salesforce, RB, MyCaseTRAKS).

  • Assists in preparing prospecting plans by Account Executive to assist the team in searching effectively for sales leads and supports the AE in their proposals and RFP responses.

  • Travel with Account Executives to meet clients and conduct presentations to key clients ensuring that the Account executive is receiving the training and development needed to excel.

  • Manage and optimize relationships with national partners (e.g., MDL, firms, insurers, corporate accounts).

  • Develop and manage sales/marketing operation budgets and guide the Account Executive in management of the expenses for their territories.

  • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

  • Prepare sales activity reports and present them to executive management including the Board of Managers.

  • Ensure the company is represented appropriately at all pertinent conferences, trade association meetings and networking events to promote services.

  • Meet with key clients, assist with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

  • Review and analyze sales performance against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.

  • Monitor feedback regarding services and pricing from Account Executives, clients, and other industry participants and actively participate in pricing discussions and changes to service and technology offerings.

  • Initiate and coordinate development of strategies and action plans to expand current markets and penetrate new markets nationwide.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrable background of building sales teams through recruiting, motivating, coaching, inspiring and mentoring your team. In addition, the candidate will have:



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • Selling experience, prospecting, qualifying, and closing

  • 5+ years Sales Management experience

  • Legal sales background/experience in litigation services firm, law firm or company currently selling to law firms in an adjacent business preferred

  • Strong legal technology experience a plus

  • Active listening skills with strong focus on client needs

  • Works collaboratively with members of management to achieve excellence in servicing and responding to our client’s needs

  • Seasoned problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, oral and presentation skills)

  • Self-motivated & goal oriented; strong desire to succeed

  • Good attention to detail, organized and dedicated sales professional

  • Able to work independently with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding goals
