Job Details:



CarepathRx is seeking a fully remote Tax Accountant that will be involved in all aspects of the federal and state tax filings as well as various tax projects such as the annual provision, M&A, tax audits, etc. In addition to the tax responsibilities, the Tax Accountant will also participate in the Accounting and Bookkeeping function at the corporate entity level. This will include, but is not limited to, the preparation and analysis of journal entries, monthly reconciliations, financial statements, accounting systems, and other financial accounting activities



The ideal candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry and approach tax and financial accounting duties with utmost discretion and confidentiality. This individual will feel confident enough in their technical skills to work independently but also possess the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the accounting team. Additionally, the Tax Accountant must feel comfortable working with external auditors and taking on projects to support organizational growth

Responsibilities




  • Assist to prepare federal and state income tax returns and to ensure compliance with tax filing requirements and regulations



  • Collaborate with the tax manager and the VP of tax to complete multiple internal tax-related projects as needed



  • Assist with tax audits and communicate with government agencies to address and resolve state notices



  • Prepare and file personal property tax returns as required by the county property tax jurisdictions



  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert management where necessary



  • Coordinate with the Accounting Manager on annual financial and tax audits; help plan and prepare documentation for External Auditors



  • Reconcile trial balance accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance



  • Process and code invoices to ensure accurate and timely records



  • Assist with Treasury and banking processes



  • Assist with the coordination of more complex accounting projects and initiatives

Requirement Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field



  • 1+ years of tax, accounting, or auditing experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a corporate tax or finance department



  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage work load within statutory and internal deadline



  • Strong computer literacy including intermediate proficiency with MS Excel




Preferred Qualifications




  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License or candidacy a plus



  • Pharmacy/HealthCare knowledge preferred



  • Familiarity with tax and accounting software and programs; OneSource Income Tax, and Workday Financials experience a plus



  • Proficiency with Microsoft products: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Adobe products



  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting methodologies and practices



  • Experience in Financial Reporting including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Spend Management
