What Nonstop is Looking For:


Nonstop is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with several years of financial auditing and reporting experience. Our ideal candidate has professional experience in daily accounting, including generating monthly consolidated financial reports and maintaining an adequate accounting records system. The Accounting Manager also establishes a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy in financial reporting, and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Responsibilities and Duties


Management



  • Manages accounting staff by aiding in recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of employees.

  • Establish and uphold a documented framework of accounting policies and procedures.

  • Ensure the integrity of financial statements.

  • Coordinates integration of finance functions for newly acquired subsidiaries, and oversees the accounting operations of the subsidiaries, if applicable.

  • Lead and develop a team as assigned

  • Continuous project management and system enhancement aimed at automating manual or outdated processes.

  • Keeps abreast of professional and technical advancements, as well as maintains CPA certifications, through participation in educational workshops and regular review of industry publications.

  • Manages outsourced functions or vendor relationships as required, ensuring effective coordination and management of external resources to meet organizational needs. This may involve tasks such as selecting appropriate vendors, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and facilitating communication to ensure seamless integration with internal operations.


Transactions



  • Ensures the timely payment of accounts payable while maximizing available discounts wherever feasible.

  • Guarantees that periodic bank and balance sheet account reconciliations are finalized.

  • Ensures that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.

  • Maintains the chart of accounts.

  • Supervises the establishment and maintenance of a well-organized accounting filing system, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of financial documents and records.

  • Maintains a system of internal controls over accounting transactions.

  • Prepares and executes journal entries for month-end close, quarter-end close, year/end close.

  • Daily /Monthly/Quarterly/Annual cash and risk management.

  • Ensures that the electronic accounting systems continue to operate as required.

  • Provides recommendations for system enhancements, including integration with overall ERP systems, and collaborates with the Senior VP of Finance to execute these improvements.

  • Provides support to the Senior VP of Finance as required, assisting with tasks such as budgeting and other financial functions.


Reporting



  • Produces consolidated financial statements and reports promptly, ensuring accuracy and completeness for various stakeholders including management, investors, board of directors, lenders, and other relevant parties.

  • Provides recommendations for establishing benchmarks to evaluate the performance of company operations.

  • Assists the Senior VP of Finance in calculating and issuing financial and operating metrics.

  • Calculates discrepancies between actual financial outcomes and the budgeted figures, providing a detailed analysis of these variances. Any notable deviations from the budget are promptly reported to management, along with recommendations for addressing these issues and optimizing financial performance.

  • Design, implement, and maintain a system for management reports.

  • Regularly prepares financial presentations for management and executives as needed.


Compliance



  • Responsible for overseeing all facets of the annual financial statement audit, which includes coordinating the gathering and provision of information to external auditors and tax return preparers, as well as drafting the financial statements and accompanying footnotes.

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including but not limited to sales, use, and property taxes.

  • Other responsibilities as requested by the SVP of Finance.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or business administration.

  • Must be a CPA (required)

  • 5 or more years professional public accounting experience

  • Leadership experience in financial management, including team management.

  • Extensive audit knowledge with comprehensive understanding of accounting functions.

  • In depth knowledge of GAAP and proven experience with revenue recognition rules.

  • Netsuite experience preferred.

  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills required.

  • Expert problem solving skills with acute attention to detail.

  • Must be able to analyze, interpret and communicate financial data and provide both spoken and written feedback.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel 5% or less

Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer per day

  • Repetitive use of fingers, hands, elbows, arms including typing, reaching, grasping, and writing

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and carry 5-30 pounds occasionally

  • Hearing and speaking ability sufficient to carry on a conversation with another individual (or groups of individuals) in person and over the telephone.

  • Visual ability sufficient to read and produce printed material and information displayed on a computer screen.
