Amentum is seeking a Financial Analyst to support portfolio of contracts in our Science & Technology organization. This position is currently slotted for full time remote support. Looking for a qualified candidate responsible for financial reporting, program/project control functions, and contract budgeting. Works closely with other financial analysts, project management and contracts personnel to manage contract financial performance. Additional duties include reconciling accounts receivable, compiling monthly financial progress reports, and supporting contract closeouts. Position performs a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment that provides room for career growth and expansion.

Essential Responsibilities:




  • Must be familiar with financial management, budgeting, project control, financial reporting and basic contract administration in a Government services contract environment


  • Ensure program costs are collected correctly by maintaining active charge numbers, monitoring actual charges, and carrying out Month End close responsibilities.


  • Measure performance against established budgets and analyze variances.


  • Maintain Project Tracking Spreadsheets and related documentation.


  • Monitor funding status providing reliable and timely notification of funding status with line-item detail.


  • Ensure contractual requirements are met and Customer financial deliverables are accurate and on time.


  • Review and approve invoices for submission to customer. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, work to resolve issues in a timely manner to manage DSO.


  • Carefully monitor program revenue and profit recognition to minimize risk to the entire organization. Analyze revenue and profit risks and opportunities on an ongoing basis.


  • Perform financial duties such as; preparing month end Accruals, assessing risks, reviewing labor and costs, understand rates and application to the financials, establishing and managing project set ups and ensuring accurate financial reporting.


  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.




Minimun Requirements:



  • BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field and 1 year of job-related experience or equivalent.


  • Good written and verbal communication skills; excellent knowledge of Excel; excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills; and ability to perform detail-oriented work in a fast-paced environment are required.


  • Positive, problem-solving attitude is a must.


  • Candidates must be able to multitask, work independently and effectively manage time; to recognize and research issues and make recommendations/ decisions based on that research; and to work accurately under firm and quick-turn-around deadlines.


  • Must be a team player, have an eagerness to learn new skills & improve existing processes, and collaborate well with others to accomplish company objectives.


  • Position may require travel.


  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance




Preferred Qualifications (Required):



  • Deltek Costpoint & Cognos experience


  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Etc.)


  • Oracle Hyperion (SmartView)


  • Experience using SharePoint or shared file locations.




Education Required:



  • BS Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field




Clearance Required/Type:



  • Ability to pass and maintain a Secret
