Salary Range: $60,000-75,000


Summary: DAWSON is seeking a Cultural Resources Project Manager for the conservation and planning team that is interested in participating in a variety of projects across DAWSON’s services throughout the country. The ideal candidate will work closely with Program Managers to support the development of a Cultural Resources group. The position is based in the Phoenix, AZ area and would require occasional overnight travel for up to a week at a time.


Responsibilities:


Coordinate, consolidate, develop, and maintain cultural resource programmatic documents, policies, and recommendations. Review draft responses to internal and external inquires. Provide updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in meetings and coordinate, develop, and review associated meeting materials. Develop cultural resources team through winning opportunities. Maintain and analyze cultural resources projects and documents. Collaborate to review and implement cultural resources requirements with federal, state, and local agencies. Provide policy analysis, execution, and cultural resources program management oversight across cultural resources program requirements by conducting security and policy reviews, validating compliance requirements, and evaluating decision processes. Review, monitor, and provide status updates on interagency cultural resources program actions and issues and concerns related to cultural resources compliance to internal stakeholders.



  • Successfully manage projects or support projects in the conservation and planning field and adhere to DAWSON’s quality standards on project deliverables.

  • Support preparation for and participation in client meetings, public information meetings, and hearings.

  • Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance.

  • Communicate with variety of stakeholders, subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients.

  • Support preparation of proposals in accordance with the proposal schedule and budget.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Resources, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Geology, Acoustics, or another related science.

  • 5+ of experience of Cultural Resources experience.

  • 2+ years of managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget.

  • 1+ years of experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Able to pass a federal and state background check for project-based assignments.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Master’s degree in relevant field.

  • 10+ years industry experience, preferably with cultural resources consulting to the Department of Defense (DoD) or other Federal clients.

  • Strong experience with cultural resources (and cultural resources management), including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface successfully with clients.

  • Existing, mature, and tested client relationships with an ability to generate new work for the Team, Office, and Company.

  • Familiar with Federal, notably including DoD, and Cultural resources requirements and processes.

  • Working knowledge of GIS software.

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written.

  • Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

  • Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.

  • Excellent and relevant references.

  • Professional certification(s) – PMP, CEP, PE, or similar.
