Summary/Objective:


The Head of Project Management provides leadership to the project managers and supports on technical and commercial issues for the teams projects. The head of Project Management is reporting to Managing Director.



Essential Functions/Responsibilities:



  • Leads the Project Managers & coordinate with Engineering group, act as the internal expert for project management / Provide direction and support to project management team.

  • Plans, directs, supervises, and controls project operations.

  • Manage the Project Management team and ensure successful execution of the projects, from pre-study to execution and delivery.

  • Provide advice, support and guidance as needed to serve as mentor to colleagues.

  • Provides leadership in the engineering functional group and mentors engineers in best practices.

  • Assist with Project management capability.

  • Plans and organizes contract and project management activities including cost re-estimates, manpower planning, work schedules, risk management, progress of certification and payment from customers/ consultant.

  • Assemble and coordinate project staff, and develop full scale project plans.

  • Manage project resource allocation.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

  • Ensure all resources are knowledgeable about process, services and procedures relative to the needs of the Project teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement in the quality and effectiveness of the planning and project management / Project evaluations and assessment of results.

  • Meet and support customers for kick off meetings, Pre-inspection meetings, progress reviews, inspections.

  • Project take-over from applications/sales verifying the margins and all deliverable complete technical and commercial review completed and accepted by both parties.

  • Evaluate and provide feedback regarding risks, quality, and overall probability of success to minimize negative impact on issue resolution objectives and deliverables.



  • Collaborate / communicate with business leaders to translate strategic direction into a series of actionable, measurable projects / initiatives to achieve both short-term and long-term goals and objectives.

  • Provide regular and timely communication to stakeholders through the use of status reports and roadmaps and managing, reporting.

  • Contributing to the harmonization and automation of processes and tools to enable business growth by improving team productivity.

  • Ensure compliance of project management with global processes and tools in pre-sales and delivery phases.

  • Provision of management information to key stakeholders, especially Region and management.

  • Agree on actions resulting from development of project pipeline, workforce planning together with HR.

  • Maintain the planned Gross Margins and ensure / increase customer satisfaction.

  • P&L accountability for all projects.


Education, Experience & Competencies:



  • Technical background.

  • Communication in English and German.

  • Knowledge on contract, legal and financial negotiation.

  • Strong negotiator with the ability to work successfully with a large, diverse and demanding set of clients.

  • Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Comfort with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands.

  • Expert knowledge of application development methodologies and technologies.

  • Expert knowledge of business standards and professionalism, operations processes and methodologies.

  • Standardization/rationalization in engineering design of products is required where possible to reduce configurations.

  • Strong project manages and analysis skills and experience in leading teams.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in providing Project Management.

  • Minimum BS/BA degree with at least 10 years of experience and a track record in successful senior operational and project management.

  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach a project managers team to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement program strategies.

  • Deep experience in operations budgeting and fiscal management.

  • Ability to lead in a dotted line / matrix organizational structure.

  • Flexibility to manage several activities at one time.

  • Ability to integrate teams to work in complex cross cultural environment.

  • Excellent negotiation, decision making and problem solving skills.

  • Software MS Project.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and will interface closely with Quality, Project Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Operations.

  • Bring knowledge and creativity to the position as well as have the discipline to drive results and follow established fundamental processes.

  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and innovate.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other staff

  • Skills required to support these duties include organization, critical and analytical thinking, leadership, and communication.

  • Excellent planning skills for large scale industrial projects.

  • Excellent people management and upliftment skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/MS Project) & PDF.

  • Competent specially and in the packaging of plants and equipment.

  • Competent in multi-disciplinary management, process, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical design, structural.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) is required and +15 years of experience in a management role of an engineering company.

  • Familiarity with ASME, API, ISO, and other international standards
