The Assistant Academic Director, Site-Based Learning (SBL) Partnership, reporting to the Faculty Chair, supports School of Public Service programs' site-based learning needs and provides effective leadership for site-based learning, experiential learning, conducting site vetting and administration, and/or clinical training experiences to ensure the intended educational outcomes are met. The Assistant Academic Director, Site-Based Learning (SBL) Partnership will serve as a manager overseeing data collection, quality improvement activities, governance, operations tasks, and collaboration with internal and external partners


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:




  • Ensure high-quality educational experiences for learners and faculty, focusing on SBL quality and achievement of outcomes



  • Engage in the ongoing review of the program, accreditation SBL Outcomes, and learner performance data; identify improvement opportunities based on regular data review



  • Prepare and submit analytics reports on a schedule determined by accreditation requirements and/or the school, summarizing findings and recommendations and tracking the impact of implemented changes



  • Conduct learner site-based vetting, approvals, and administration



  • Approve and Manage affiliation requests



  • Manage affiliation database and ensure accreditors' mandates are met



  • Serve as liaison with multiple internal cross-functional partners. Collaborate with the SBL team, Academic Leadership Team, Program directors, Licensure Team, School Curriculum Committee, Advisory Councils, Honor Society Liaison (if relevant), and other committees as assigned



  • Resolve multi-faceted types of problems encountered involving courses, faculty, regulatory, or administrative issues



  • Maintains communications with preceptors/site supervisors, including, but not limited to, site vetting, orientations, and evaluations



  • Maintains communications with learners, including, but not limited to, site-based learning issues, audits, and evaluations



  • Develop and provide SBL faculty and learner orientations/training as defined by school and/or specialized accreditation and as needed



  • Build and lead collaborative relationships with accrediting bodies to meet accreditation and other professional standards



  • Contribute to specialized accreditation processes, self-study development, develop and maintain relevant learner manuals and accreditation SBL standards and outcomes assessments



  • Ensure SBL processes are designed per accreditation standards and followed by all involved



  • Conduct audits of SBL processes to ensure continuous quality improvement and learner success



  • Teach or mentor as assigned



  • All other duties as assigned




Job Skills:




  • Education — Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum development, andragogy, and assessment. Knowledge of program/course quality data and implementation of recommendations relevant to improving learner outcomes. Ability to maintain program compliance with all regulatory rules and national program accreditation standards. Familiarity with program development and evaluation. Ability to advise and assess learning effectiveness and quality of the education experience

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs



  • Ability to travel as required/needed




Work Experience:




  • A minimum of 3 years teaching in an accredited program or related field; online higher education teaching experience



  • Demonstrated leadership in academia or in a practitioner setting



  • Significant experience managing and working with remote teams and a matrix environment preferred



  • Social Work:




    • Two years of social work practice experience at the MSW/Graduate level required



    • A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the graduate level, preferred



    • Two years of leadership experience in Social Work Graduate Education experience, preferred



    • Demonstrated contribution to the discipline, including publishing, committee involvement, or professional association involvement preferred





Education:




  • Social Work:




    • MSW from a CSWE accredited Social Work program, required



    • All degrees must be conferred and from a regionally accredited institution. Copies of required certificates and licenses and unofficial transcripts for all graduate degrees with the institution, and conferred degree and date must be attached



    • A doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in social work or closely related fields, including Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, and Education. required





Certificates, licenses and registrations:




  • Must hold a minimum Social Work graduate-level licensure or higher and obtain graduate-level licensure in the State of Minnesota upon hire (including passing the ASWB exam with their current graduate-level license)




Other:




  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%)



  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs



  • If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location



  • Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location



  • This role may require lifting, however reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with our ADA policies



  • Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem-solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers



  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Accommodations related to schedule may be considered
