Job Description


Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide, School of Engineering, College of Aviation invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the engineering field. This full-time, 10-month faculty position will involve teaching primarily in the Mechanical, Aerospace, Robotics, or Systems engineering discipline. Classes will be taught primarily online. As an academic appointment with faculty rank, this position includes teaching, scholarship, and university service as the principal responsibilities



A requirement of this position is to teach an annual course load of 24 semester hours (normally 8 courses), and engage in University, College, and Department activities. The faculty member will work from a home office and will be required to attend all Department, College, and Worldwide meetings. An additional requirement is to become proficient in the distance learning modalities utilized by the University including EagleVision Classroom, EagleVision Home, online, and blended. The faculty member may teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and must be willing to travel on occasion to attend meetings and teach classes. The faculty member will assist in faculty and academic issues when requested by the School and/or College Dean and will be required to promote a positive university image and ensure academic quality of the courses offered within the College

Qualifications


Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Robotics, Computer, Software, Systems Engineering, or any other related Engineering Discipline. Mastery in the candidate's engineering field applied to teaching is required. Experience in online course delivery and knowledge of a Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the ability to manage cloud-based Engineering Software, Virtual Machines, and/or globally distributed engineering projects is a definite plus
