AAA is hiring for a Senior E-Learning Designer to join our team! This position is responsible for performing needs assessment and designing eLearning programs. This role will oversee development, implementation, update, and maintenance of a corporate on-line learning site in order to provide Associates with interactive learning materials for information, products, and software systems for all AAA Club Alliance. This individual will also maintain direct partnerships with Business Line representatives and serve as a representative for Learning and Development.

What You'll Do:



  • Supports the organization in the design, development, and coordination of implementing best-in-class eLearning strategies and curricula, and directly manages related projects.



  • Oversees team member contact with subject matter experts across the organization and serves as a liaison with key business clients and training groups.



  • Receives feedback from a variety of sources including the Manager of eLearning and the Director of Learning & Development.



  • Designs, develops, and coordinates the implementation of best-in-class training courses intended to improve individual and/or organizational performance.



  • Reviews and edits the work of others to ensure adherence to standards of instructional integrity; assures consistency and tone of multiple-module curriculums with multiple writers.



  • Focuses on the rapid modernization of existing AAA courses and development of new AAA courses by employing templates and matrices.



  • Prepares clear, relevant objectives and design documents that meet/exceed organization needs.



  • Applies storyboarding practices for eLearning content development projects and becomes proficient in the use of rapid prototyping techniques used to efficiently design instruction that meets the client’s needs.



  • Utilizes Project Management techniques to manage development efforts.



  • Manages to project plans to ensure completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines; track milestones and timelines across projects and institute necessary work flow and resource allocations, making alterations when necessary to meet expectations of clients; analyze and resolve issues that have the potential to jeopardize performance and/or ability to meet agreed upon deliverables.



  • Prepares cohesive, in-depth design documents and project plans for large scale initiatives.



  • Works with other Internet team members (eBusiness, IT Department, Consultants, functional heads, business partners and outside vendors) in developing new programming.



  • Works with junior level eLearning Designers to develop skills, provide feedback on design practices and preview preliminary course builds prior to client testing.



  • Assists subject matter experts (SMEs) with: a. Selection of appropriate instructional interventions. b. Development of instructionally sound course objectives. c. Design and development of realistic scenarios and case studies. d. Design and development of valid assessment items/tools and evaluating these materials.



  • Actively seeks to avoid duplication of work and re-work through communication & leveraging the work of others.



  • Provides recommendations and suggestions for best practices in the field of Instructional Design to further continue the growth of all eLearning Team members. Should serve as a catalyst for change to adopt new technologies, practices and processes.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Industrial Technology or related field; Master’s degree preferred.



  • 5+ years training delivery experience in a corporate setting including experience in systematic approaches to eLearning development (Instructional System Design or Systems Approach to Training).



  • 2 – 3 years project management experience on large-scale curriculum development projects using PM tools and techniques.



  • Certification in advanced instructional technologies, preferred.



  • Fully proficient in design software used to build eLearning content including (but not limited to) Articulate 360 Storyline, Techsmith Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Audition, Lightroom, Captivate, Animate and Character Animator.

  • Have a working knowledge of basic web design (including HTML, XML and CSS) to enhance the learning experience. The ability to write and understand basic code in JavaScript and Python a plus.

  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of the SCORM standard and the ability to utilize the SCORM Cloud online testing platform.

  • The ability to work with a video producer/editor to develop training related video content and be able to provide video ready content and assets.



  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to online instruction (both synchronous and asynchronous formats).



  • Knowledge of copyright laws, rules, and regulations and ADA standards are essential.



  • Advanced knowledge of various operating systems, file structures, file formats, and protocols.



  • A high level of expertise with software that facilitates the design of instruction (storyboards, flow charts, assessments, etc.).



  • Experienced internal consulting or client management skills.



  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
