McElhanney is excited to offer an opportunity for a Legal Administrator to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you'll assist the legal team with various tasks including share transactions, corporate records, insurance, and fleet administration.

This position welcomes candidates from any city center in British Columbia or Alberta and offers flexibility to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both.

Salary range: The salary range for this role is $50,000-$70,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.



What You’ll Be Doing:



  • Assist in preparing and reviewing legal documents related to share transactions, including share offers, share sales, redemptions, and dividend paperwork and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of share transactions and related documentation

  • Assist with corporate and fleet insurance administration, including requests for insurance certificates, fleet management and driver status review processes

  • Coordinate and manage the execution and filing of legal documents with relevant authorities and stakeholders

  • Assist with maintenance and organization of corporate records, including minute books

  • Assist with professional corporate and individual membership registrations and renewals

  • Maintenance of business licenses

  • Reviewing and posting information on the company’s Intranet, SharePoint, and Teams sites

  • Manage the administration of accounts payable tickets for the Legal team and various accounting process-related tasks

  • Perform administrative tasks to support a variety of other legal processes (organization of corporate and shareholder records, word processing, filing, meeting arrangements, etc.).

What You’ll Bring:



  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative role in a corporate or legal environment

  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams

  • Completion of an accredited Legal Assistant Diploma program is an asset but not required

  • Effective communication and interactive skills – must be able to build strong relationships and communicate respectfully and confidently with internal executives, employees, other administrators, and shareholders

  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to exercise judgement

  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Ability to work on an independent basis and to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
