The Senior Consultant role presents a chance for someone well-versed in the intricacies of the healthcare sector, attuned to customer requirements, and capable of navigating the complexities of benefit plans from various viewpoints (employer, broker, employee) to enact meaningful changes in group healthcare. The desired deliverable would be ever-evolving client and broker relationship building based on a robust understanding of our client's needs and concerns.


Responsibilities



  • Successfully manage client relationships regarding health and ancillary benefits.

  • Renew contracts for clients.

  • Cultivate and nurture positive relationships between our clients and internal team.

  • Educate our client base on the Nonstop Health partially self-funded product.

  • Maintain long-term client satisfaction, loyalty, and retention, with support from client relations, and client/consumer experience teams

  • Demonstrate expertise with both fully insured and self-funded plan designs.

  • Review renewal and marketing (RFP) results and produce client-facing presentations (analytical comparisons).

  • Maintain renewal project workflow by successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams and partners (internally and externally)

  • Retain and cultivate a profitable book of business by owning the retention process

  • Coordinate and complete all renewal and open enrollment tasks (e.g. renewal packets, scheduling meetings and webinars, online/other enrollments, and data exchanges), and accessing resources across teams to meet client needs/deadlines

  • Provide timely updates to clients regarding upcoming initiatives, deadlines, topics of interest, and contracts/renewal packages in collaboration with the client/consumer experience team.

  • Provide support and guidance on a variety of healthcare requirements and regulations

  • Customize benefit packages including Medical/Dental/Vision and possibly some ancillary plans in collaboration with clients and/or sales and leadership teams

  • Develop, review, update, maintain, and customize multi-year consulting strategies for both self-funded and fully insured options

  • Analyze and complete reports, contracts, and paperwork for submission to management and/or applicable teams as required

Requirements:

Job Requirements



  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in medical benefits/health insurance, account management, or broker relationship management

  • Licensed with the DOI to sell Accident and Health & Life or the ability to renew within 30 days of hire (required) **

  • Experience as a health benefits broker would be ideal for this senior role

  • Experience working with Kaiser is preferred

  • Group Health Insurance experience

  • Experience developing strong client partnerships

  • Current knowledge regarding ERISA and health insurance landscape

  • Experience managing multiple projects, particularly benefits renewals

  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced problem-resolution skills and communication abilities

  • Ability to work on a team, independently, and collaborate remotely

  • Experience effectively collaborating with various teams and individuals at every level of an organization

  • Excellent presentation, and listening skills

  • Superior organizational skills with impressive attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and an exceptional commitment to great customer service

  • PowerPoint, Google Slides, MS Word, Google Docs, MS Excel, and Google Sheets experience

  • Must be able to pass a background check

Physical Requirements



  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer per day

  • Repetitive use of fingers, hands, elbows, and arms including typing, reaching, grasping, and writing

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and carry 5-30 pounds occasionally

  • Hearing and speaking ability sufficient to carry on a conversation with another individual (or groups of individuals) in person and over the telephone.

  • Visual ability sufficient to read and produce printed material and information displayed on a computer screen.
