OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
Under the guidance of Principal Animator, portray character and object movements and behaviours, and tie them together with gameplay and visual storytelling
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Works with the Principal Animator to design and implement the needed gameplay animations
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of animation principles such as weight, balance, inertia, and posing
- Strong understanding of motion, acting, and timing
- Ensures animations meet technical and visual quality standards and overall artistic direction of the projects
- Work collaboratively with other members of the production team to resolve technical and/or design issues. Provides guidance and direction for junior animators
- Anticipate and recognize potential conflicts or production issues, communicate technical and artistic constraints and recommend solutions
- Constantly evaluates the animation pipeline for improvement
- Adjusts and refines animation as indicated by the Art Director and Principal Animator
- Participate as a proactive team member to further team and project goals
- Assist with Unreal hook ups within motion trees, character components, blend spaces etc.
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities as requested
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years’ experience in animation in a game development environment.
- Proficient with standard animation tools such as Maya, 3D StudioMax and MotionBuilder
- Highly motivated, self-driven problem solver with strong attention to details
- Proven track record to complete work within deadlines while maintaining constant communication with team
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure. Thrive in fast-paced work environment while maintaining high quality results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The pay range for this role is:
95,000 - 105,000 CAD per year (Canada)
