Medical Coding Specialist- Inpatient Facility

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses to ensure proper billing and reimbursement. Your role will contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our medical records and billing processes.

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for procedures, diagnoses, and services rendered
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and standards
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information for accurate coding
- Utilize medical coding software systems to accurately assign ICD-10, ICD-9, and other relevant codes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and changes in the healthcare industry
- Participate in coding audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Assist with medical billing processes as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical coding preferred
- Proven experience as a Coding Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and medical office procedures
- Proficient in using medical coding software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

• Inpatient Facility Medical Coding: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

• CCS, RHIT,RHIA (required)
