Hiring from: United States

About the Job:

LaunchDarkly is seeking a dynamic Technical Copywriter/Editor to join our Content & Communications Team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling and clear short-form copy across various platforms and stakeholders. You will play a crucial role in distilling complex technical concepts into easily understandable and engaging content.

You are a storyteller at heart who loves to tell stories through short-form copy that showcases a unique balance of technical expertise and creative flair. You take copy from good to great and elevate those around you by working with a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for web pages, email campaigns, landing pages, and ads.

  • Distill technical concepts into easy-to-digest short form copy, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

  • Delight customers and prospects with creative and persuasive messaging that drives engagement.

  • Own and update our voice and style guidelines to ensure consistency across all communication channels.

  • Collaborate closely with the website, creative, growth marketing, and demand generation teams to align messaging and move projects from 80% complete to 100%.

  • Provide quick copy support while maintaining high quality standards and attention to detail.

  • Utilize SEO best practices to optimize copy for search engines and improve organic visibility.

  • Provide guidance and perspective to internal writers to ensure consistent, and high-quality contributions.

About You:

  • Team-Oriented: You excel at collaborating across the company. You can move easily between business stakeholders, product development, and marketing teams and are motivated by achieving success as a team.

  • Great Communicator: You have a natural ability to build relationships with cross-functional team members and are a master of the written word, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Startup Mentality: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you need to balance multiple projects and prioritize your work both short and long term.

  • Data-inspired: You appreciate the balance of quantitative and qualitative analysis and you use that analysis to make informed recommendations.

  • Bias for action: You seek necessary inputs, but don’t strive for perfection or solving 100% of the problem before you dive in and start creating.

  • Positively Inclined Problem-Solver: You see challenges as opportunities, lead with answers, assume best intent, and present with empathy.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a copywriter/editor in a developer-first company, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to authentically write for technical audiences.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Experience and perspective on testing web copy across various personas, languages, and buying stages.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and terminology.

  • Proficiency in SEO techniques and keyword research.

  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • The ability to flex your writing skills across channels and you enjoy doing so.

  • A can-do attitude with excitement to make an immediate impact.

About LaunchDarkly:

Modern software delivery was supposed to be the foundation for a thriving digital business but reality has proven otherwise. Slow, inefficient development cycles, costly outages, and fragmented customer experiences are preventing developers from building their best software. The LaunchDarkly platform helps developers innovate on new features faster while protecting them with a safety valve to instantly rewind when things go wrong. Developers can target product experiences to any customer segment and maximize the business impact of every feature. And by gradually rolling out new application components, they escape nightmare "big-bang" technology migrations.

The LaunchDarkly platform was built to guide engineers to the next frontier of DevOps by:

  • Improving the velocity and stability of software releases, without the fear of end customer outages

  • Delivering targeted experiences by easily personalizing features to customer cohorts

  • Maximizing the business impact of every feature through the ability to experiment and optimize

  • Coordinating the release and optimization of software to provide consistent experiences across mobile platforms and device types

  • Improving the effectiveness and productivity of engineering teams, by providing insights into engineering cadence and stability

At LaunchDarkly, we believe in the power of teams. We're building a team that is humble, open, collaborative, respectful and kind. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

One of our company values is 'Widen the Circle'. Which means we seek out diversity of perspectives to get better results. We understand everyone has their own unique talents and experiences. We encourage you to apply to this role even if you don’t think you meet 100% of the qualifications outlined above. We can find out together if it's the right match for your skillset.
