Senior User Experience Writer

A little about us. Splunk is here to build a safer and more resilient digital world. We’re proud to say that we’re the key to enterprise resilience for more than 11,000 enterprise organizations that use our Unified Security and Observability Platform to keep their systems secure and reliable. We’re also proud of our award-winning culture and our regular appearance on those “Best Places to Work” lists

If you end up joining us, we’ll only ask one thing: bring your whole, authentic self, what we call your million data points. So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you. Because when you feel free to be you, it makes it a lot easier for us to be us

About the role:

As a Senior UX Writer, reporting into Director, Content Operations and Engineering, you act as an integral partner with writers, designers, product managers, and engineers to evolve our UX writing practice. Your contributions will be key to contributing to the evolution and adoption of our design system. You will bring your expertise into play to establish the content system, standards, and enablement for UI content. You will also focus on elevating UX writing practice and standards and empowering colleagues to excel in creating user-centric interface information. Your focus will help make Splunk products easier to adopt and help customers learn to use Splunk software to make their organizations more resilient

You will be a great addition to the Splunk Product Experience organization if you:

  • Believe that product information experiences cannot exist without a deep understanding of our customers and users.

  • Are passionate about driving clarity through words, and engaging customers through voice and tone, while learning from data, testing, and iteration to improve the customer experience in the product.

  • Have experience driving collaboration and customer experience work sessions to facilitate alignment across groups and to inspire customer empathy and UI writing practices that improve the customer product experience.

  • Work collaboratively and welcome feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders, seek research and data to support ideas, and tap your intuition to make the right decision in the absence of definitive facts.

  • Have experience balancing business needs with technical feasibility needs to enable others to create simple, engaging, user-centered writing.

  • Exemplify the company’s core values across all levels in the organization and throughout the organization. You show up with integrity, debate the hard issues, and grow the company in new directions.

  • Bring your authentic self to work and create an environment for others to do the same.

  • See the value in high trust, highly-empowered, transparent organizations.

  • Are able to flex your style based on the situation; sometimes we hold lines, sometimes we build bridges.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5-7+ years of experience with successful UX writing and UI copywriting, with a large portion of that experience in relevant Enterprise and SaaS products.

  • Proven experience creating design systems, content systems, and supporting patterns.

  • Successful experience shaping standards, creating a content system for UX writing, and enabling others to create great copy.

  • Passion for driving ease-of-use in product and content through information and copy.

  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in UX writing.
