MOTION GRAPHIC DESIGNER/ANIMATOR

Location: Fully remote, ability to work CST/PST, located in the US
Job Type: Ad hoc hours, part-time/freelance work
Compensation Range: $55 - 65/hr W2, dependent on location

We are looking for a talented freelance Animator/Motion Graphics Designer to join our client's in-house Video Team. This role demands a blend of creativity and technical prowess, focusing on producing compelling visual content that resonates with audiences across various digital platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in transforming concepts and ideas into engaging animations that enhance our client's narrative and branding efforts.

Responsibilities:

Concept Development:

• Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and storyboard animation projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and brand guidelines.


• Inspire innovative ideas and translate them into actionable animation concepts.


• Craft compelling stories through animation, effectively conveying messages tailored to the target audience, enhancing brand engagement and communication strategies.

Animation Production:

• Create high-quality animations and motion graphics from initial concept to final delivery, incorporating feedback and revisions as needed.


• Maintain the highest standards of animation quality throughout the project.


• Engage with stakeholders, present concepts and drafts, gather feedback, and make adjustments to align with their vision and goals.

Technical Proficiency:

• Utilize a broad range of software and technologies to produce animations and graphics, staying abreast of the latest industry trends and tools.

Budget and Timeline Management:

• Collaborate with Project Managers or Producers throughout a project to manage stakeholder expectations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and within expected quality standards.


• Regularly communicate with project managers and stakeholders to provide updates on project status and manage expectations.


• Proactively identify and address any budget or timeline concerns, proposing solutions as needed.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Creative Director, ACDs, Art Directors, Video Team Lead, Producers, Project Managers, Editors, and other cross-functional team members to integrate animation and motion graphics seamlessly into broader projects.


• Be proactive, professional, nimble, and resourceful to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

Brand Consistency:

• Ensure all animations and graphics adhere to company brand guidelines and communication goals.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years as an Animator/Motion Graphics Designer or similar role.


• Bachelor's degree in computer animation, motion graphics, or a related field.


• A strong portfolio of successful projects.


• Mastery of 2D animation (specifically character animation), understanding motion, timing, and storytelling through visual cues. (Knowledge of 3D animation a big plus).


• Compositing experience


• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop)


• Knowledgeable grasp of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.


• Ability to conceptualize innovative ideas and turn them into visual narratives that engage and inform audiences.


• Keen eye for detail to ensure polished, high-quality animations that meet brand standards.


• Clear communication skills for articulating concepts and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.


• Commitment to staying updated with industry trends, software updates, and new techniques in animation and motion graphics.


• Excellent organizational and project management skills.


• Familiarity with copyright laws and intellectual property rights related to animation.


• Experience with creating animations within the corporate environment.


• Possess the technical knowledge and collaborative and problem-solving skills necessary to translate abstract concepts into effective deliverables.
