We are looking for an organized and outgoing Business Development Manager to join the Alt Hotel Winnipeg. Reporting to the General Manager, this individual will work closely with the Regional Director of Sales and operation departments of the hotel. With strong analytical abilities and sales skills, this resourceful and personable individual will develop creative strategies and deploy sales tactics, lead prospecting and negotiations, and participate in a range of efforts tied to the organization’s success.
What You'll Do
- Research new markets to identify potential opportunities of business and increase market share
- Canvass through prospecting, calls for tender, events, and sales blitzes
- Collect information on the market and the competition
- Analyze reports, trends, competitive knowledge to develop tactics to maximize occupancy and revenue for both guest rooms and event spaces
- Demonstrate finesse in contractual negotiations with potential clients, working within established parameters, policies and strategies
- Proactively manage account performance and develop accounts with potential
- Collaborate as part of our team of Business Development Managers across Canada
- Conduct site inspections and client visits, host and participate in familiarization trips, attend industry trade shows and assigned association memberships
- Represent Germain Hôtels on all occasions in a professional manner that enhances the quality, image and the reputation of the property
- 3 to 5 years as Sales Manager, hotel or otherwise
- University degree or college diploma in a related field
- Ability to use Microsoft applications and hotels technologies (ex: Opera)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid sales skills and thorough knowledge of the market
- Organization and time management skills, attention to detail
- Autonomy and ability to self-direct
- Creativity, adaptability, and eagerness to innovate
