MISSION OF THE POSITION
The Estimator will collect and analyze information to estimate costs of products and services for assigned departments and projects. This will be accomplished by preparing cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service.
Essential Duties
Estimating
- Estimate the cost of new and proposed products and services in the assigned departments, areas, or projects.
- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Establish and maintain tendering process.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Analyzes changes to the products and services provided.
- Consult with clients, vendors, or personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services.
- Stay up to date on trends and best practices for estimation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree preferred

Experience
At least three years of estimating experience required
Excellent analytical skills

Thorough understanding of construction project management
Proficient with accounting software
