Senior Product Marketing Manager, Growth

Relay

Full time Posted: 4 hours ago Marketing and Sales

Hiring from: Canada

Relay is a digital banking platform that gives self-made business owners the tools and know-how to be great with money—bringing clarity, confidence, and control to every dollar earned, so they can turn hard work into lasting success. We do this by replacing financial guesswork with real visibility, transforming cash flow from a constant source of stress into a clear signal owners can use to run stronger, more resilient businesses.

We're looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Growth to join our fast-growing Product Marketing team. This is a PMM role with a direct impact on revenue, at a company betting big on product-led growth as its next chapter. Most of our customers never talk to a salesperson — they discover Relay's value on their own, inside the product. That means the product itself needs to communicate its value, drive adoption, and turn engagement into revenue. You'll play a key role in shaping that experience by understanding customer behaviour, identifying moments of value, and building pathways that drive conversion and monetization.

This is an ideal role for a PMM who thinks like a product manager, writes like a storyteller, and thrives on driving measurable growth. You'll bring the go-to-market lens to product decisions, partnering closely with Product Management and Product Design to shape how customers discover, experience, and ultimately pay for Relay's value.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monetization & Conversion Strategy: Own positioning and messaging across key monetization touchpoints, including paywalls, upgrade prompts, plan comparisons, and trial experiences. Clearly communicate product value to drive conversion while building customer trust
  • Roadmap & Strategy Partnership: Serve as a key voice of the customer to inform product roadmap decisions and prioritization. Partner closely with Product Management and Marketing to align product strategy with customer needs, market opportunities, and growth potential
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Brand, Demand Generation, Lifecycle, and Product to deliver consistent positioning and messaging across the customer journey, from acquisition and onboarding to activation and retention
  • Customer & Competitive Insights: Lead research efforts to understand SMB needs, customer behaviour, competitive dynamics, and market trends. Translate these insights into compelling positioning, messaging, and growth opportunities
  • Experimentation & Growth Optimization: Own the strategy and execution of experiments to improve conversion, adoption, and monetization. Partner with Product, Performance Marketing, and Data to identify opportunities, define success metrics, test hypotheses, and iterate based on performance insights
  • Compliance & Regulatory Partnership: Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to ensure product messaging, monetization strategies, and growth initiatives meet regulatory requirements while delivering a seamless customer experience

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in product marketing or growth/performance marketing, preferably at a high-growth B2B or B2B2C company, with a focus on marketing to SMBs. Bonus points for experience in UX writing, content design, or technical writing
  • You have experience with product-led growth (PLG), and understand how to drive activation, conversion, and adoption through the product experience
  • You have a strong experimentation mindset – you know how to identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, define KPIs, run tests, and turn insights into measurable growth
  • You’re a data-driven storyteller who can turn complex product features and customer insights into compelling narratives that resonate with customers and drive action
  • You’re a customer champion who engages deeply with customers, advocates for their needs, and translates insights into positioning and messaging that connects with them
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments, bringing a strong ownership mindset, bias for action, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, and drive measurable results

The Interview Process

  • Stage 1: A 30-minute Google Meet video call with a member of the Talent team
  • Stage 2: A 45-minute Google Meet video call with the Head of Product Marketing
  • Stage 3: A take-home case study followed by a 60-minute Google Meet video call with our team
  • Stage 4: A 45-minute in-person interview with a member of the Leadership team

Our Compensation Approach

We believe Relayers should feel rewarded for the impact they have on our mission and growth. Compensation follows impact. As impact increases, compensation grows, and we do not limit compensation changes to a once-a-year review cycle.

The annual salary range for this role is $139,500 CAD to $170,500 CAD.

For candidates who demonstrate full readiness for the defined scope of the role, the typical starting salary is $155,000 CAD. Offers below this point reflect candidates we believe can grow into the full scope of the role with support and development. Offers above this point reflect impact that meaningfully exceeds the role’s defined expectations or an expanded scope from day one.

We encourage you to have a conversation with your recruiter and ask questions about compensation throughout the hiring process. For more information on our compensation philosophy and perks and benefits, visit our Candidate Hub.

Why Relay Might Be the Perfect Fit For You

  • You push relentlessly for reinvention: You're always asking "how can this be better?" -- in your work, in your craft, in yourself. Comfort is a signal to push harder, not coast. You'd rather build something better than defend something familiar.
  • You crave autonomy: We trust our team with big challenges and the freedom to solve them. If you’re someone who takes initiative, is comfortable taking risks, and seeks input when needed, you’ll find the freedom here empowering.
  • You own your work: You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.
  • You build with AI, not just use it: You're actively embedding AI into how you work, pushing what's possible, and bringing your team along with you.
  • You care about impact, not noise: You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition, and you let your work speak for itself.
  • You’re energized by complexity and ambiguity: You enjoy tackling problems that don’t come with a playbook. You’re comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward.
  • You seek out feedback: You see directness as respect, not criticism. You actively seek input, sit with hard truths, and use feedback as fuel for improvement.
  • Small businesses are why we're here: Relay exists to help them thrive -- and that mission has to resonate with you.
