Department Supervisor

The Department Supervisor is a key member of the store leadership team responsible for leading associates, driving operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role oversees the day-to-day activities of assigned departments, ensuring associates are focused on top priorities, meeting performance expectations, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, service, and execution. Department Supervisors lead by example, coach and develop associates, and create an environment where teamwork, accountability, and customer service thrive.

In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring department performance, including sales, productivity, product availability, safety, and shrink. You will collaborate closely with store leadership to support business goals, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure operational standards are consistently achieved. Through effective planning, communication, and coaching, you will empower your team to deliver results while providing customers with an easy and enjoyable shopping experience.

Department Supervisors play an important role in talent development and associate engagement. This includes participating in the hiring process, onboarding new associates, providing performance-based coaching, recognizing achievements, and supporting career development. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to build high-performing teams, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, and comfortable leading in a fast-paced retail environment. What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop associates to achieve performance expectations.
  • Drive exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns.
  • Ensure operational excellence through effective execution of merchandising, inventory, and department standards.
  • Monitor key business metrics including sales, productivity, shrink, and safety performance.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and associate development.
  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying and correcting hazards and ensuring compliance with all safety policies.
  • Partner with store leadership to achieve overall business objectives and support store operations.
