Key Responsibilities
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotations while working closely with customers and internal teams to understand project requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
- Review customer inquiries, specifications and project requirements to prepare accurate and competitive quotations.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements, obtain additional information and discuss quotation details.
- Review drawings, specifications and other supporting documentation to determine project requirements.
- Prepare, revise and maintain quotations based on customer needs and project changes.
- Review costing and pricing details to ensure quotations are complete and accurate.
- Provide customers with product information, specifications and technical guidance in response to inquiries.
- Respond to incoming pricing requests and provide timely follow-up on outstanding quotations and open items.
- Collaborate with Customer Service to clarify order requirements and support a smooth transition from quotation to order.
- Work closely with Technical Services to confirm product and material compatibility as required.
- Identify and resolve quotation-related issues by working collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues across the business.
- Minimum 2 years of quoting, estimating or related experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience within the window, door, glass or building products industry, specifically curtain wall considered a strong asset.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications is an asset.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with customers and working across multiple internal departments.
