This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, takeoffs, and project requirements while developing accurate and competitive estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and project documents
- Prepare detailed material and labor estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs for cabinetry, millwork, countertops, and related products
- Analyze project specifications and identify potential issues or discrepancies
- Prepare accurate pricing and proposals
- Obtain pricing from vendors and suppliers when necessary
- Work closely with sales, project management, purchasing, production, and customers
- Track project changes and update estimates as needed
- Assist with bid preparation and submission
- Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation
- Help identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and profitability
- Previous estimating experience within cabinetry, millwork, countertops, casework, or building materials
- Ability to read architectural drawings and construction documents
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
Experience with commercial casework, architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, countertops, or construction estimating is highly desirable.
