Role Overview: This position involves preparing and cutting various meats according to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation. Responsibilities include portioning, trimming, grinding, and processing meats, as well as stocking and merchandising the department. The role requires maintaining cleanliness, safety, and food safety protocols, and providing excellent customer service through suggestive selling.

Key Duties

  • Cutting, weighing, and packaging meat products
  • Preparing value-added products and following recipes
  • Pricing, dating, wrapping, and stocking meat items
  • Monitoring inventory levels and notifying managers for supplies
  • Maintaining a clean and organized department
  • Practicing safety, PPE, and food safety guidelines
  • Assisting customers and practicing suggestive selling
  • Supporting tasks in other departments as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 1+ year retail or related experience; meat cutting experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
  • Basic math skills
  • Detail-oriented with product knowledge and suggestive selling skills

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and environments. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
