THE ROLE

Reporting to the Assistant District Manager, the Store Manager owns the day-to-day of the store and the performance of the team. You spend the majority of your time leading the floor — hiring, training, coaching and scheduling — while managing the store’s financial performance, customer experience, safety and compliance. You lead by example in line with FOUR20 values, always protecting the interests of the company, the team and the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Submit the weekly recap (Forms) and timecards by Monday 12pm, and complete the monthly store standards audit and manager survey

  • Lead and coach through the company vision and core values; nurture a safe, inclusive environment

  • Cascade Hub-set targets to the team and lead the planning to achieve them: revenue, average basket value, labour and budget

  • Plan to Hub-set budgets and sales forecasts, in partnership with the District Manager

  • Approve store expenditures within budgetary limits and District Manager approval (supplies, equipment, expense items)

  • Provide consistent communication, coaching and feedback to hold the team accountable to results

  • Run the store’s feedback loop and meeting cadence: weekly recaps, monthly store-standards reviews, Store Manager and office-hours meetings, and town halls

  • On the sales floor 5 days a week, leading by example and coaching in the moment; accountable for training and customer experience

  • Train and hold the team accountable for exceptional service through flawless execution of our We Pass program

  • Own the selection, training and relationship management of your team

  • Lead inventory counting, management and order receiving for the store

  • Complete a full inventory count monthly, and run an audit count whenever variance exceeds the set threshold

  • Own inventory movement, analysis of inventory results, product destructions and return management

  • Maintain and monitor store inventory levels and support loss-prevention initiatives

  • Execute visual merchandising as outlined by the Hub

  • Unpack boxes for inventory as required (boxes can weigh up to 30 lbs)

  • Own daily scheduling, applying our labour-optimization practices to support a great customer experience

  • Ensure staff complete required training, onboarding and ongoing functional training

  • Keep the store clean, safe and presentable for customers

  • Manage vacation / LOA / sick requests and tracking, and timecard approval for your location

  • Partner with HR and the District Manager to process employee changes for timely, accurate pay

  • Support successful trainings and performance / development meetings

  • Ensure the team uses current systems (e.g., Lightspeed, ADP Workforce Now)

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and industry-wide product knowledge

  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the local community

  • Lead emergency response — a core part of this role: set up structure for unplanned events, support and direct staff, and secure the location and the safety of people

  • Own inspection readiness (Compliance, OHS, etc.)

  • Keep the store compliance binder current and ensure compliance is executed on the floor day-to-day

  • Keep the Health & Safety board up to date

  • Complete reporting and ticketing in Jetdocs

  • Manage the local security system and building access
