Join an established real estate investment and property management team as a Senior Building Operator, keeping commercial buildings safe, comfortable and running reliably while supporting tenants and mentoring fellow operators.
Your New Employer
Our client invests in and develops office, industrial and retail properties. Its property management team supports a Canadian portfolio of more than 1.3 million square feet, bringing together building operations and responsive tenant service.
Your New Role
You will monitor the building automation system, respond to alarms and troubleshoot comfort, mechanical and control issues. You will maintain and perform minor repairs on HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, including chillers, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, generators, induction units and VAV systems.
You will respond to tenant requests involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general repairs, resolving issues or recommending practical solutions. You will coordinate contractors, maintain accurate service records and support repairs and capital projects while helping ensure building systems meet applicable Alberta safety, fire and health requirements. You will also mentor operators and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
What Sets You Apart
You bring at least three years of direct experience in junior or intermediate commercial high-rise building operations. You hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate or Building Operator Certificate in good standing with ABSA, or are working toward your 4th Class certification. You have strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience, and can read building drawings, equipment manuals and safety documentation.
You communicate clearly and professionally with tenants, contractors and colleagues, respond promptly to service requests and solve problems using sound, fact-based judgment. You can lift, move and carry tools, equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
