Responsibilities
The Sheet Metal Estimator is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Division Manager. Their primary focus is estimation of mechanical sheet metal projects under the direction of leadership. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform take-offs from construction drawings
- Establish costs of labour and materials for mechanical projects
- Maintain a strong knowledge of and list of suppliers
- Ensure costs of goods and materials are in line with industry standards
- Identify best costs and rates
- Evaluate and review proposal specifications to identify scope of work
- Ensure accuracy of estimates
- Degree or Diploma in Estimating, HVAC Systems
- Skilled Trade Certificate
- 5+ years’ experience estimating mechanical sheet metal projects
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of:
- Blue print reading
- Sheet metal design interpretation
- Industry materials and costs
- Organization and time management
- MS Office
- Autobid SM
- Procore
- CamDuct or Est/MEP would be an asset
