About This Role
Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, Manitoba is currently recruiting for a full-time Groundsperson.
Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens has over 30 developed acres and performs more than 440 interments annually. The property includes an onsite reception center, funeral home, administration and sales office and indoor Mausoleum and Columbarium.
The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner.
This position is based on a 40-hour work week and may change as required for the needs of the business including working overtime as required.

Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is required.
- Mechanically inclined having either formal mechanical training or experience would be an asset.
- Heavy equipment operator’s training or certification would be an asset.
- A certificate in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) would be an asset.
- A team player, with a positive attitude and the ability to multitask and set priorities.
- Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors would be assets.
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
- The successful candidate will be required to perform ground burials and cremation niche interments.
- All aspects of cemetery care including customer service, memorial and monument installations, equipment maintenance and grounds maintenance.
