The Hungry Tarpon Restaurant at Robbie's in sunny Islamorada is looking for an energetic and reliable Dishwasher to join our fast-paced kitchen crew! As the backbone of our culinary operations, you'll ensure that our kitchen team and guests always have sparkling-clean, sanitized dishware, utensils, and cooking equipment ready to go. Your Daily Mission (What You'll Be Doing):
- Master of the Machine: Operate, load, and unload the commercial dishwasher with speed and efficiency.
- Hand-Wash Hero: Wash large pots, pans, and specialized kitchen tools by hand when needed.
- Scrape & Prep: Efficiently scrape, rinse, and organize dirty dishes, glassware, and flatware arriving from the dining area.
- Organization Expert: Sort, stack, and return clean dishes, cookware, and utensils to their proper kitchen stations quickly so service never misses a beat.
- Sanitation Station: Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic dishwashing area, sweeping and mopping floors and taking out trash, and recycling as needed.
- Kitchen Collaborator: Assist line cooks and prep staff with light kitchen prep tasks or basic tidying during downtime.
- Chemical Safety Savvy: Safely handle, monitor, and restock dishwashing detergents, sanitizers, and cleaning supplies.
- Rock-Solid Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and ready to hustle during busy breakfast, lunch, or dinner rushes.
- Speed & Efficiency: Ability to work quickly and stay focused in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Detail-Oriented Eye: A commitment to high sanitation standards—you make sure everything comes out spotless.
- Team Player Attitude: A friendly, positive attitude and a willingness to help out wherever needed.
- No Experience Necessary: Previous restaurant or dishwashing experience is a plus, but we are happy to train anyone with a great attitude and strong work ethic!
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift continuously throughout your shift.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs (heavy racks of dishes, trash bags, or bus tubs).
- Comfortable working in a warm, humid environment near warm water and dishwashing equipment.
