Property Maintenance Technician - Full Time

Looking for a steady, full-time Monday-Friday role where you're not stuck behind a desk all day?
SpareBox Storage is looking for a full-time Property Maintenance Technician who likes staying active, working independently, solving practical problems, and keeping properties clean, safe, and running the way they should.
This is not the old-school storage manager job where you sit in an office all day selling boxes and chasing people for money. Our rentals are handled online, through kiosks, and by our call center. That means your time is spent on the property, not tied to a desk.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday.
Pay: $24-27 per hour
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Monday-Friday schedule with no regular weekend shifts
- Independent, active workday
- Time spent outside and across the property, not stuck at a desk
- No collection or delinquent calls
- No merchandise to sell
- Customer rentals and most routine support are handled through our website, kiosks, and call center
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day condition, appearance, and basic upkeep of the properties assigned to you. The work varies from day to day, but your focus is simple: keep the sites clean, safe, functional, and looking the way they should.
- Walk and inspect the properties regularly
- Check doors, locks, gates, lighting, and other property equipment
- Handle minor maintenance and repairs, including light plumbing, painting, landscaping, hardware, and general facility upkeep
- Complete maintenance and repair work orders in a timely manner
- Replace broken parts or equipment when appropriate and report larger repair needs
- Keep drive aisles, grounds, work areas, and common areas clean and safe
- Help resolve occasional on-site tenant concerns when needed
- Identify maintenance or safety issues before they become bigger problems

The right person for this job is dependable, practical, and self-motivated. You don't need someone standing over your shoulder to get things done. You notice when something looks off, and you're willing to jump in and fix it. Small details matter, whether that's a clean drive aisle, a secure unit, a working gate, or a property that simply looks cared for.

- Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, construction, apartments, self-storage, commercial buildings, or another hands-on field is preferred
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic maintenance equipment
- Able to learn and use basic software systems and web applications
- Organized, dependable, and good at managing your time
- Comfortable working independently and managing your day
- Able to safely lift and move items up to 75 lbs.
- Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields
- Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle physical workload
