About The Role.
McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Cook to join our Fry Plant facility in Grand Falls, NB. Please note, this position is physically demanding and requires working Monday to Friday 6 am to 2:30pm. The role is situated in a fast-paced dynamic, which necessitates maintaining a high level of alertness and flexibility. Employees must be comfortable with routine physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, and safely lifting items weighing between 35 and 40 pounds.
Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts. The ideal candidate will be dependable, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy work environment.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and company quality standards for daily meals and special events.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and workstation at all times.
- Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in food preparation, portion control, and inventory management.
- Deliver meals promptly and efficiently during service periods.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and promptly address any concerns with inventory.
- Manage cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Source essential ingredients such as oil and potatoes each morning, ensuring readiness for daily operations.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.
- Previous experience in cooking or working in a kitchen setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Completion of a recognized food safety course or willingness to obtain certification in accordance with New Brunswick standards.
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday shifts, with occasional extended hours as needed.
- Team player with excellent attendance.
- Must have good mathematical skills for cash handling.
- Demonstrate continuous initiative and involvement.
- Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis.

Compensation Package: - Starting at 26.17 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
