Summary
We are looking to add someone to our team to monitor resident smoking at our designated smoking locations and time. Smoking Monitor does require you to be outside for the full shift to monitor safe smoking and assist residents with lighting cigarettes. You will be responsible for following Smoking Attendant/Monitor Guidelines set by the facility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work with elderly patients/residents
- Ability to work with partners, family members, and community
- Possess patience, good organizational skills, assertiveness and be conscientious
- Present a professional appearance
- Be flexible in working hours so that weekend or evening programs will be provided
- Ability to understand and follow the Policy and Procedures set by the facility.
- Able to lift 60 to 70 pounds occasionally
- Able to be on feet for 7-8 hours daily
- Be able to move throughout center without assistance
- Be able to withstand outside temperatures.
- Respectful and supportive to supervisor
- Assist and support the Supervisor in assessing patient to determine their ability to smoke safely.
- Effectively communicate with a supervisor all noted changes in the patients ability to participate during the smoking time.
- Maintain clean smoking areas, free of smoking paraphernalia, ensure smoking ash trays are emptied at the end shift.
- Assist and support positive public relations with the community and with other partners, patients, and families.
- Be aware of HCSP Standards and abide by the 20 Better Way Promises.
- Be aware of and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Be aware of and abide by weekly work schedule; be prepared and prompt.
- Be aware of and follow all State and Federal guidelines.
- Attend and support in-services and partner meetings as required.
- Be aware, support and follow all State, Federal, Company and Center Requirements, Policies and Procedures.
