Summary
The Traffic/Bin Spotter & Cleaner provides excellent customer service while safely directing vehicles to the appropriate disposal areas, inspecting loads for contamination, and ensuring materials are directed to the proper drop-off locations. The role also supports overall site safety and cleanliness through routine inspections, property maintenance, hazard reporting, and clear communication with staff, drivers, contractors, and customers.
Responsibilities
In the position of Traffic/Bin Spotter & Cleaner, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Provide and demonstrate excellent customer service to provide customers with directions for vehicles to the correct disposal areas on the site, and answer questions regarding the unloading of materials.
- Perform duties that require a complete understanding of the required hand signals for spotting vehicles in a safe, communicative and professional manner.
- Ensure entire outside grounds and the facility inside are routinely cleaned and maintained by performing regular and daily seasonal property maintenance (i.e. snow shoveling, salting, sweeping, litter clean up).
- Perform visual inspections of loads for contamination; accurately direct traffic to the proper and most appropriate drop-off and disposal locations.
- Routinely inspect and assess site safety conditions by reporting, communicating and documenting any hazardous or potentially hazardous workplace conditions.
- Liaise with supervisors, managers, site staff, drivers, contractors, customers and regional staff in a professional and team-oriented manner.
- Work within Miller Waste Systems safety guidelines.
- Comply with all ISO procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and all Health & Safety Regulations and Policies.
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.
- Strong multitasking and priority management skills, with the proven ability to organize and to successfully plan work tasks in order of importance and criticality to business operations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Meet or exceed performance and productivity expectations through proven results.
