We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Winnipeg bakery. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be accountable for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving bakery production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role is vital to minimizing equipment downtime, supporting production goals, and maintaining high standards of product quality through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Hourly Rate: $27.90
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Maintain and repair bakery production equipment to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs to support equipment reliability.
- Promote and adhere to workplace safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance and product quality.
- Interpret technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals to support maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to ensure dependable operations.
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial production equipment.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and technical documentation.
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts and support production schedules.
- 1st or 2nd Level Industrial Mechanic Apprentice designation.
- Experience rebuilding pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other process equipment.
- Experience with machinery installation, rigging, and equipment modifications.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems.
- Experience using SAP maintenance systems.
