The Full Time Dairy Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Dairy Department while ensuring exceptional customer service, strong merchandising standards, effective inventory management, and a safe, organized work environment. The Dairy Manager will provide leadership to department teammates, drive sales and profitability, maintain product availability and quality, and actively contribute to a positive environment of employee and customer engagement.
Here’s Where You’ll Have An Impact
- Lead the daily operations of the Dairy Department and ensure department standards are consistently maintained
- Adhere to and enforce all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety requirements, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
- Order, receive, rotate, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while managing shrink, waste, out-of-stocks, and product rotation
- Ensure shelves, displays, bunkers, coolers, and promotional areas are full, faced, organized, and merchandised to company standards
- Provide superior customer service and ensure customer needs are addressed in a professional and timely manner
- Drive department sales by effectively merchandising and promoting featured, seasonal, and promotional products
- Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, productivity, inventory control, and profitability
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized back shop, cooler, and retail sales floor
- Ensure proper rotation, date checks, temperature controls, and product quality standards are maintained
- Lead, coach, train, and support department teammates while promoting teamwork and employee engagement
- Assist with scheduling, task delegation, and daily workload planning to ensure department priorities are completed
- Communicate department priorities, expectations, and operational updates to teammates
- Complete required department paperwork, inventory processes, price changes, and other administrative duties accurately and on time
- Support store leadership and other departments as required
- Other duties as required
- Previous retail grocery, dairy, or department leadership experience is considered an asset
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and support a team
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Above-average communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high merchandising, food safety, and customer service standards
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and complete physical work including, but not limited to, bending, lifting, reaching, stocking, and working in refrigerated environments
