Job Overview
Six Mile, LLC (SML) is seeking a Lead Janitor to provide support to a base operations support services contract in Kodiak, AK! As a Lead Janitor, you are responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy facility by assisting and overseeing the cleaning and sanitizing processes. These processes may include mopping & vacuuming floors, disinfecting surfaces, and restrooms, and emptying trash and recycle cans.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Follow the janitorial plan checklist for the specific area assigned and ensure all plan requirements are met.
- Plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines in an environment with constantly changing priorities.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, or scrubbing.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Dusts furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities; replenish supplies in restrooms.
- Empties, cleans and sanitizes waste receptacles.
- Identifies and reports building maintenance needs.
- Inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective actions/repairs.
- Ensure proper housekeeping practices are strictly observed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of Janitorial (or related) experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of your work will be performed in an indoor setting, where you will interact with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities, located throughout the country.

LIFTING & CARRYING
This position is generally active, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employee must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times.
MOBILITY
