Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves transforming beautifully baked cakes into stunning edible works of art, ensuring each customer’s special occasion is memorable. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cake decorating, food presentation, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position offers an opportunity to showcase artistic skills in a fast-paced, food industry environment dedicated to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and desserts according to customer specifications and bakery standards, utilizing various decorating techniques and tools
- Prepare cakes for decoration by applying frosting, fillings, and other edible embellishments
- Ensure all baked goods meet food safety and handling regulations during preparation and decoration
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and kitchen area
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as baking, portioning, and packaging baked goods
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with custom cake orders and product selections
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene and safety standards are upheld at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production of decorated cakes for events and daily sales
- Proven experience in cake decorating.
- Knowledge of food preparation, baking, and kitchen safety standards within the food industry
- Experience in a restaurant or bakery environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to handle food products safely and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for design and presentation
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards
- Basic food handling certification or willingness to obtain necessary certifications prior to employment is preferred
