As a Resident Attendant, you’ll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
What makes you a great fit?
- Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
- Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignments
- Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required
- Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments
- Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the team leader
- Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food preparation and service
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role.
- Basic or Standard First Aid
- Certification in Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Worker, or a 16 hour course that covers the provision of personal care and that is recognized by the department. If you don't have this, you must be willing to complete this course within 3 months of start date.
- Medication Assistance Module; or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
