As an Intermediate Project Controls Professional, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of complex buildings and infrastructure projects across Jacobs canadian offices (Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba).

Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams, you will provide project controls expertise in cost management, forecasting, scheduling, earned value analysis, risk management, and project performance reporting. Your contributions will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while supporting informed business and project decision-making.

The successful candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for driving project performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Develop, maintain, monitor, analyze, forecast, and report on project budgets, commitments, expenditures, estimates at completion (EAC), cash flow, productivity, and project financial performance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, work plans, progress measurement systems, and performance metrics.
  • Establish and manage project cost control structures, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost coding, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Directors with monthly Operating Project Reviews (OPRs), financial reviews, and performance reporting.
  • Support quarterly forecasting activities, including revenue, cost, margin, and resource projections.
  • Review project expenditures and cost transactions to identify discrepancies, incorrect charges, cost variances, and trends requiring corrective action.
  • Process, validate, and track subcontractor and subconsultant invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, cash flow forecasts, earned value metrics, and project performance indicators.
  • Conduct cost and schedule risk assessments and provide recommendations regarding contingency utilization and mitigation strategies.
  • Support project pricing, budgeting, and proposal development activities while ensuring compliance with Jacobs policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Facilitate change management processes, including tracking potential changes, evaluating financial impacts, and ensuring approved changes are reflected in project forecasts and budgets.
  • Identify project risks, financial exposures, and performance issues early and collaborate with project teams to develop recovery and mitigation plans.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc project controls analyses, reports, dashboards, and presentations for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to improve project controls processes, reporting efficiency, and data quality.
  • Perform other project controls and project management support duties as assigned.


Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's in Cost Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience in a project controls or related function is required
  • Previous experience working on buildings and infrastructure type projects is desired.
  • Proficient computer skills using MS Office tools. Proficient Excel skills are a must.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills

Posted Salary Range Upper

100,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $100,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
