- Job Goal:**To regulate vehicular and pedestrian traffic in conjunction with the movement of children to and from school.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
to operate grounds equipment, such as weed eater and Z-turn mowers.*
Performance Responsibilties
Place school signs if necessary in the roadway at designated places near crossing points and remove them when no longer required.
Regulate buses and other vehicular traffic and designated crossings.
Control the children who use crossing to see that they obey traffic and safety regulations.
Report all traffic hazards to the police.
Report flagrant traffic violators and suspicious persons loitering in the school area.
Contact school officials concerning children who do not cooperate in accomplishing safety objectives.
Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties
Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls
Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes.
Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks and others
Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth
Perform routine maintenance duties
Sweep walkway of debris
Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger
Trim shrubs and pull weeds
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping
Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed
**Inter/Intra-agency Communication and Delivery**
Establish and maintain continuous professional relationships with law enforcement agencies.
Attend appropriate meetings.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, District and school personnel and the public.
Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student information
Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, school personnel and the public.
Follow attendance, punctuality and appropriate dress rules.

Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
