As a Sanitation Technician, you will work across production and non-production areas to maintain facility cleanliness, support room and batch changeovers, document sanitation activities, and help ensure cleaning practices are completed according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
General
- Follow established SOPs and suggest improvements to cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Work with department managers on the timing of room changeovers, batch changes, room cleaning and general cleaning.
- Perform regular cleaning duties, garbage removal and sanitation of floors, door handles and other surfaces.
- Clean grow rooms and post-harvest areas before, during and after production.
- Support destruction of cannabis waste material.
- Organize clean and dirty items.
- Operate industrial dishwashers, pressure washers and fogging equipment.
- Document cleaning activities in the electronic database.
- Support continuous improvement of cleaning and sanitation practices and procedures.
- Coordinate with Quality for ATP swab sanitation checks.
- Clean common areas including lunchrooms, offices, bathrooms, the main entry and locker rooms.
- Operate washing and drying machines for production uniforms.
- Keep exterior facility grounds free of garbage inside and outside the fenced area.
- Support operational tasks as needed, including trimming, packaging and plant maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous sanitation experience is an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset.
- Previous cannabis industry experience is an asset.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 kg.
- Available for overtime during peak times and to meet deadlines.
