Hiring from: United States
This is a global hiring and payroll platform that lets companies engage contractors, hire full-time employees as an Employer of Record, and run localized payroll across more than 150 countries without opening their own legal entities. For recruiters, the appeal is practical: a candidate in another country can go from signed offer to compliant onboarding, contract, benefits and first payment inside one system. It suits TA and people teams placing talent internationally far more than it suits a company hiring only in its home market.

Where it's strong
Coverage and consolidation are the real differentiators. Few competitors match the country breadth, and fewer still combine contractors, EOR employees and entity-based payroll under one login with one set of compliance checks. The integration library is genuinely deep, connecting to accounting tools (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite), HRIS platforms (Workday, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors), ATS tools like Greenhouse and Lever, and Slack/Teams for approvals, with an API and webhooks for everything else. Security posture is solid, with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 independently audited annually.
Where it falls short
The headline pricing is misleading in a way buyers should plan for: the quoted EOR fee is a platform fee only, and actual monthly invoices layer on employer taxes, statutory benefits, FX spreads and security deposits that can add 30-50% on top. Contractor of Record eligibility is also gated, since Deel reviews location, role and contract type and requires its unmodified standard agreement, so custom terms can disqualify you. Smaller teams new to global hiring often find the platform overwhelming, and intricate benefits or compliance configurations still route through customer support rather than self-serve.

Pricing, value, fit and verdict
Contractor management starts around $49 per contractor per month, COR around $325, entity-based payroll around $29 per employee, and EOR from roughly $599 (Enterprise nearer $899), with negotiated EOR rates often falling to $400-$500 at 20+ headcount. The value holds when you genuinely have people abroad and would otherwise pay for entities, counsel and payroll vendors; it doesn't for a couple of domestic contractors. For cross-border recruiters it's one of the more relevant tools here, paying contractors in local and multiple currencies and handling employment compliance where you lack an entity, with security and privacy independently audited though granular data-residency options not publicly detailed. Bottom line: if your hiring crosses borders this is the safe default and most complete option, just budget for the all-in invoice rather than the platform fee, and skip it if your hiring is single-country and low-volume.
